BVR Neighborhood Gymkhana
...Proving to Make the Better Best!!

Residents, friends, family, and other local 4-H club members shared in some old-fashioned arena fun as the the Buena Vista Ranchos Neighborhood Gymkhana is celebrated with music, food, gift raffles, and community entertainment this Sunday, March 16th!

The neighborhood event commenced with an invocation that included the opportunity to hear the beautiful and dynamic voice of BV member, Olivia N. singing The National Anthem. Riders (totaling 70!) included lead line "little cuties" who braved the exciting events of poles and barrels atop their favorite horse!  Afterwards, club riders from each class (beginners through advanced) kicked-up some dust as they made their way through the gymkhana events.  Half-time entertainment proved to be BIG as the Shire horse team of Luke and Toby, ridden by the very brave BV team of Chloe and Sarah, performed arena feats of equine daring!  Traveling around the arena perimeter, neighbors could find an array of colored awnings housing everything from good eats to fantastic auction and raffle gift baskets.  A new addition to the event this year was the project chicken talks and displays given by 4-H Maverick Poultry Club members!

Hosted by BVM- our super terrific club leaders, members, and parents (including Dad's!) deserve a big "high-five" for a job well done.  Much hard work in planning and set-up goes into this event.   As a team, we do a mighty fine job putting this together!!  Proceeds from Gymkhana go to 4-H Scholarships and Community Service Projects.  Congratulations to all on making this a terrific event!
